Role Overview
PetSmart’s Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services while ensuring pet health, safety, and positive pet parent experiences. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer service, sales, and salon operations in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Recommend wellness solutions and upsell merchandise/services to meet sales targets.
- Handle pet parent interactions: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and consultations.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Respond to pet health issues, assist other departments, and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping, and working in a pet-filled, noisy environment.
