Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Flowood, Mississippi store, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional pet parent experiences. Share responsibility for salon cleanliness and uphold PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Greet pet parents, manage reservations, conduct check-in/out, reminder calls, and maintain client records.
- Recommend wellness solutions, promote sales to meet targets, and upsell merchandise/services.
- Ensure salon sanitation through daily maintenance and end-of-day cleaning; respond to sick/injured pets.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and participate in our culture of recognition.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Need computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
