Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon operations, and sales to uphold our high standards of pet health, safety, and satisfaction in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards, including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs and recommend services/products to enhance pet care.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Drive sales growth, monitor metrics, and assist in other store areas as needed.
- Respond swiftly to pet health issues, including vet transport if required.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have prior grooming experience or 6 months as a PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion. Key skills include computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands involve lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in pet-heavy, noisy environments with reasonable accommodations available.
