Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. This hands-on role combines grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon maintenance, and sales growth in a fast-paced pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs, recommend solutions, and promote services/merchandise to meet sales targets.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and client records; greet and assist customers in-person and via phone.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness/sanitation; monitor pet health/safety and transport sick pets to vet if needed.
- Flexibly support other store departments and embody PetSmart's values of recognition and inclusion.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training plus Salon Academy certification. Must excel in computer use, stay composed under pressure, communicate effectively, and prioritize safety/detail. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, exposure to wet/hairy environments and moderate-high noise around live animals. Flexible scheduling required (evenings, weekends, holidays).
