Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This full-time role in Fredericton, NB, requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, recommend products, and drive salon sales.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
- Ensure salon sanitation, perform daily maintenance, and respond to pet health issues.
- Assist other departments and promote company values of belonging and recognition.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience or successful completion of PetSmart's 6-month Salon Academy training with safety certification. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, ability to stay composed under pressure, organizational skills, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs in a wet, noisy setting with live animals. Depth perception and team lifting required.
