Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service, salon maintenance, and sales contributions to meet store goals. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential in this dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards, including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care.
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions and upsell products/services.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-ins/outs, reminder calls, and record-keeping.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues promptly.
- Collaborate across departments and participate in recognition programs while following all policies.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program and Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, organizational prowess, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in pet-heavy, noisy environments with reasonable accommodations available.
