Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service, salon maintenance, and sales growth in a fast-paced retail environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on health solutions, recommend services/merchandise to meet pet needs and boost sales.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and client records; greet and assist customers at register.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane pet conditions; perform daily/end-of-day maintenance.
- Monitor pet health, take action on sick/injured animals, and assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training plus Salon Academy certification. Must excel in computer use, stay composed under pressure, and prioritize safety. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet-filled, sometimes noisy/wet environment. Strong communication and organizational skills required.
