Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. Based in Garfield, New Jersey, this role emphasizes grooming expertise, safety, cleanliness, and sales while collaborating across departments to uphold our vision of pet wellness.
Essential Physical Demands
Expect standing, lifting up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), handling pets in a wet, noisy environment with pet hair. Flexibility for ladders, stooping, and depth perception required.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu and standalone services per standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions and rebook appointments.
- Drive salon metrics through merchandising, upselling, and promotions.
- Ensure salon hygiene via daily maintenance checklists.
- Handle pet health issues promptly, including vet transport.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming or PetSmart Salon Academy certification required. Excel in high-pressure settings with strong organization, communication, and computer skills. Must thrive on evenings, weekends, holidays amid live animals and moderate noise.

- Perform full grooming services including bath, brush, nail trims, teeth brushing per PetSmart standards

- Manage check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and client records
- Maintain salon cleanliness, pet safety, and report sick/injured pets
- Assist other departments and uphold company policies
