Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences and upholding pet health, safety, and cleanliness standards. Based in Garner, NC, this role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement to boost salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart protocols.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend services/products to meet sales targets.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, rebooking.
- Maintain impeccable salon hygiene via daily checklists; respond to pet health issues, including vet transport.
- Collaborate across departments, follow policies, and promote inclusive culture.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with Salon Academy certification/technical evaluation pass. Must excel in computer use, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organization, detail-oriented safety focus, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair/wet environment with moderate-high noise and live animal exposure.
