Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. Uphold pet health, safety, and salon standards while contributing to sales goals and team success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart protocols.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness recommendations, rebook appointments, and promote merchandise/services to meet sales targets.
- Handle check-in/out procedures, client records, phone reservations, and reminder calls for seamless operations.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Respond immediately to sick/injured pets, including vet transport, and assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in pet hair/wet environments with moderate noise.
