Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon maintenance, and sales growth in a fast-paced retail environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
Essential Physical Demands
Expect to stand, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), handle pets in wet/hairy conditions, and climb ladders. Depth perception and composure under pressure required.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu per PetSmart standards
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions and rebook services
- Handle check-in/out, phone reservations, and salon promotions
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness and report sick pets immediately
- Drive sales through merchandise recommendations and metrics achievement
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience or completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program with Salon Academy certification. Strong communication, organization, computer proficiency, and safety focus needed. Thrive in moderate-to-high noise with live animals.
