Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional pet parent experiences. This full-time role in our Gresham store involves grooming expertise, customer engagement, and salon operations to uphold our vision, mission, and values.
Essential Physical Demands
Expect to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift over 100 lbs), stoop, kneel, and work in a pet-filled environment with moderate noise, wet conditions, and pet hair. Depth perception and composure under pressure are key.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu and standalone services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, manage appointments, and drive salon sales.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane pet conditions daily.
- Handle check-ins/outs, client records, reminder calls, and emergency pet responses.
- Collaborate across departments and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Strong communication, organizational skills, computer proficiency, and schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays) essential. Thrive in fast-paced settings with pets and people.

- Maintain salon cleanliness, sanitation, and pet safety standards
- Promote salon sales, recommend merchandise and services
- Identify and respond to sick/injured pets, assist other departments
