Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon management, and sales growth in a fast-paced retail environment. Uphold our vision of pet health, safety, and satisfaction while contributing to store success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on pet needs, recommend wellness solutions, and drive sales of merchandise/services.
- Handle salon operations: greet clients, manage appointments, check-in/out, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane pet conditions; perform daily/end-of-day maintenance.
- Monitor pet health, take immediate action for sick/injured animals, and assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training plus Salon Academy certification/technical evaluation. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, exposure to wet/hairy environments, and handling live animals.
