Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds top standards for pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This dynamic role combines hands-on grooming with customer service and sales in a fast-paced pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart protocols.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend solutions, and drive salon sales targets.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, client records, reminder calls, and rebookings.
- Maintain impeccable salon sanitation; respond to pet health issues including vet transport.
- Collaborate across departments and embody PetSmart's values of belonging and recognition.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, scheduling flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational detail-orientation, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in pet hair/wet environments with moderate noise.
