Role Overview

PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon management, and sales growth. Maintain the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently execute full grooming services: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care.
• Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend services, and drive salon sales targets.
• Handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and client records using salon software.
• Ensure salon sanitation through daily maintenance and end-of-day cleaning checklists.
• Monitor pet health; transport sick/injured pets to vets as needed and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience required, or completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program with Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in pet hair-filled, noisy environments with live animals.
