Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. You'll perform full grooming menus, maintain salon standards, and contribute to store success through sales and safety protocols. This role demands flexibility, pet passion, and customer focus in a fast-paced setting with exposure to live animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute bath, brush, grooming, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness solutions and rebook appointments.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and sales register duties.
- Promote merchandise/services to meet sales targets and salon metrics.
- Uphold cleanliness, sanitation, and humane pet conditions; respond to sick/injured pets.
- Assist other departments and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must have computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping, and working in wet/noisy environments with animals.
