Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Hattiesburg, MS location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional pet parent experiences. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer service and sales to drive salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness solutions, recommend merchandise/services to meet pet needs.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, client records, rebooking.
- Maintain salon cleanliness/sanitation, perform daily maintenance, ensure humane pet conditions.
- Identify sick/injured pets, take immediate action including vet transport; assist other departments as needed.
- Promote sales to achieve targets, follow company policies.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion/certification. Must have computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, exposure to wet/hair-filled environments and live animals.
