Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds top standards for pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This dynamic role combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer service and sales to drive salon success and positive experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart protocols.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs, recommend and sell services/merchandise to meet sales targets.
- Handle pet parent interactions: greetings, questions, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, rebooking.
- Maintain impeccable salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, ensure humane pet conditions.
- Monitor pet health; transport sick/injured pets to vet; assist other store departments; follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion/certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, scheduling flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, safety focus, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
