Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role upholds our vision of best-in-class grooming while maintaining cleanliness, safety, and sales excellence. Located in Hobart, Indiana, you'll thrive in a dynamic retail environment passionate about pets.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend solutions, and upsell merchandise/services to meet sales goals.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and client records for seamless experiences.
- Maintain salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Respond to sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy completion. Key skills include computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands: lift 50+ lbs, stand extensively, work in wet/noisy environments with animals.
