Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Houston, Texas salon, you'll deliver best-in-class services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional pet parent experiences. Share responsibility for salon cleanliness and thrive in a fast-paced environment upholding PetSmart's vision and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Greet pet parents, manage reservations, check-in/out, and conduct reminder calls.
- Recommend wellness solutions, sell merchandise/services to meet sales targets.
- Maintain salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, and respond to pet health issues.
- Assist other departments and participate in company culture initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy certification. Need computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, exposure to pets/hair/noise.
