Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This dynamic role combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer service and sales to drive salon success in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart protocols.
- Consult with pet parents on needs, recommend wellness solutions, and promote merchandise/services to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, client records, and rebooking.
- Maintain impeccable salon hygiene, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Respond to pet health issues, assist other departments, and embody PetSmart's culture of recognition.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training plus Salon Academy certification. Must excel in computer use, stay composed under pressure, communicate effectively, and commit to flexible scheduling. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in a pet-filled, sometimes noisy/wet environment.
