Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon maintenance, and sales growth. Full-time position in a dynamic retail environment with exposure to live animals and moderate physical demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs, recommend services/products to boost sales targets.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, client records.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness/sanitation; monitor pet health and respond to emergencies.
- Collaborate across departments, uphold company policies and safety protocols.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, wet environment with moderate noise.
