Role Overview

PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon management, and sales growth. Full-time position in a dynamic pet retail environment with exposure to live animals and moderate physical demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
• Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs, recommend solutions, and drive salon sales targets.
• Handle check-in/out procedures, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
• Uphold salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane pet conditions; perform daily/end-of-day maintenance.
• Monitor pet health, transport sick/injured pets to vet if needed, and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a wet, pet-hair-filled environment with moderate noise.
