Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensures pet safety, and builds lasting pet parent relationships. This hands-on role combines grooming expertise with customer service in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, manage appointments, and promote salon sales.
- Uphold cleanliness standards, monitor pet health, and respond to emergencies.
- Handle check-ins/outs, client records, and rebooking to enhance experiences.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion. Must excel in high-pressure settings, communicate effectively, and lift 50+ lbs. Flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays essential. Physical demands include standing, stooping, and exposure to pets/noise.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail (experience)
- Excellent written and verbal communication (experience)
Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards
- Engage pet parents to recommend services and products while managing check-in/out and reservations
- Maintain salon cleanliness, pet safety, and handle sick/injured pets immediately
- Drive salon sales through promotions and merchandise recommendations
- Participate in store culture, follow policies, and assist other departments as needed
