Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds pet health/safety standards. This hands-on role in our Kamloops store involves grooming, customer service, sales, and salon maintenance in a dynamic pet environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on needs, recommend wellness solutions, and promote merchandise/services to meet sales targets.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, client records, and rebooking.
- Maintain salon cleanliness/sanitation via daily checklists; respond to pet health issues including vet transport.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and contribute to a positive team culture.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy completion. Need computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to detail/safety, and strong communication. Physical demands: lift 50+ lbs, stand/walk extensively, work in wet/noisy pet environments with animals.
