Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service, salon operations, and sales in a fast-paced retail environment. Uphold PetSmart's standards for pet health, safety, and salon excellence while contributing to store success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards, including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care.
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, and drive salon sales targets.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Handle check-in/out procedures, client records, reminder calls, and emergency pet transport if needed.
- Collaborate across departments and participate in PetSmart's recognition culture.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or successful completion of PetSmart's 6-month Salon Academy training and certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in pet-heavy, noisy environments with reasonable accommodations available.
