Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon management, and sales to uphold our high standards of pet health, safety, and satisfaction. Full-time position with flexible scheduling in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services.
- Consult with pet parents on needs, recommend wellness products, and drive salon sales goals.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, client records, and promotional calls.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond to pet emergencies.
- Collaborate across departments and embody PetSmart's values of inclusion and recognition.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program with Salon Academy certification. Must excel in high-pressure settings, possess strong communication/organizational skills, computer proficiency, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs in a pet-filled, fast-paced salon. Flexible availability essential.
Physical Demands
Expect standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs individually, 100+ lbs team), and exposure to wet/hairy environments with moderate-to-high noise and live animals.
