Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and parents. This full-time role in Killeen demands grooming expertise, customer focus, and commitment to cleanliness, safety, and sales goals. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential in our high-energy pet retail setting.
Essential Physical Demands
Expect to stand, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), handle pets in wet/hairy conditions, climb ladders, and maintain composure under pressure. Exposure to noise, animals, and mechanical parts is common; reasonable accommodations available.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs and upsell services/merchandise.
- Handle reservations, check-ins/outs, reminder calls, and client records.
- Uphold salon sanitation; respond to pet health issues including vet transport.
- Drive salon sales, productivity, and metrics while assisting other departments.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion/certification. Strong communication, organization, computer skills, and safety focus essential. Thrive in fast-paced settings with pet parents and live animals.
