Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences and upholding pet health, safety, and cleanliness standards. This hands-on role involves grooming expertise, customer engagement, and salon operations in a fast-paced store setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness solutions and recommend services/merchandise to boost sales.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and client records; greet and assist customers.
- Maintain salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Identify sick/injured pets, transport to vet if needed; assist other departments and follow policies.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion/certification. Must have computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a wet, noisy environment with animals.
