Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) at our Knightdale, NC location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional customer experiences. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement to drive salon success and pet parent satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on pet needs, recommend wellness solutions, and promote merchandise/services to meet sales targets.
- Handle salon operations: greet clients, manage appointments, check-in/out procedures, reminder calls, and maintain accurate records.
- Uphold cleanliness and humane conditions; perform daily maintenance and end-of-day cleaning checklists.
- Respond to pet health issues, transport to vet if needed, and assist other store departments.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or successful completion of PetSmart's 6-month Salon Academy training and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings, weekends, holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, moderate-noise environment with live animals.
