Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer service, salon maintenance, and sales to uphold our high standards of pet health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, recommend products/services to meet pet needs.
- Handle pet parent interactions: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, rebooking.
- Maintain salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions; perform daily/end-of-day maintenance.
- Drive sales growth, achieve targets; assist in other departments as needed.
- Respond to pet health issues, transport to vet if required; follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must be computer-proficient, organized, detail-oriented, and able to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends/holidays. Strong communication, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs essential. Work environment involves pet hair, noise, mechanical parts, and live animals.
