Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in Lake Charles, Louisiana, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and outstanding pet parent experiences. Share responsibility for salon cleanliness and uphold PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and drive salon sales.
- Maintain impeccable salon hygiene with daily maintenance and end-of-day cleaning checklists.
- Respond to sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Need computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
