Role Overview
PetSmart’s Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services while ensuring pet health, safety, and positive pet parent experiences. This full-time role in Lake Mary combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon management, and sales growth in a fast-paced retail pet environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend solutions, and upsell merchandise/services to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations including greetings, reservations, check-ins/check-outs, reminder calls, and record-keeping.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane conditions; perform daily/closing maintenance per checklists.
- Monitor pet health, transport sick/injured pets to vets as needed, and assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, exposure to wet/hair-filled environments, and handling live animals.
