Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Lakewood, WA location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional customer experiences. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer service, sales, and salon maintenance in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Essential Physical Demands
Expect to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift over 100 lbs), stoop, kneel, and work in a wet, pet hair-filled space with moderate to high noise and live animal exposure. Flexibility required for evenings, weekends, holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu and standalone services per PetSmart standards.
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, handle reservations, check-ins/outs, and reminder calls.
- Drive salon sales through merchandise and service promotions to hit targets.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness and humane conditions; respond immediately to sick/injured pets.
- Follow all policies, assist other departments, and contribute to team culture.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Passion for pets and customer satisfaction essential.
