Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon operations, and sales growth in a fast-paced retail environment focused on pet health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Engage pet parents in-person/phone/register to recommend wellness solutions and book services.
- Handle check-in/out procedures, client records, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Maintain salon cleanliness/sanitation via daily checklists; respond to pet health issues including vet transport.
- Promote sales to meet targets; assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months PetSmart Stylist in Training with Salon Academy certification/technical evaluation pass. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair/wet environment with moderate-high noise.
