Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This role combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer service and sales to drive positive outcomes in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness solutions, recommend products, and promote services to meet sales targets.
- Handle salon operations: greet clients, manage reservations/check-ins/outs, conduct reminder calls, and maintain records.
- Ensure salon sanitation through daily maintenance, end-of-day cleaning, and immediate action on sick/injured pets.
- Assist other departments, participate in team culture, and adhere to all policies.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or successful completion of PetSmart's 6-month Salon Academy training and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), strong organization, attention to safety, and excellent communication. Physical demands include standing, lifting 50+ lbs, working in wet/hair-filled areas with moderate-to-high noise and live animals.
