Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. You'll perform full grooming menus, maintain salon standards, and contribute to sales goals while prioritizing pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness in our Latham, NY location.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute bath, brush, grooming, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services per PetSmart protocols.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and rebookings.
- Drive salon sales through merchandise recommendations and promotions to meet targets.
- Ensure salon sanitation, humane pet conditions, and immediate action on sick/injured pets.
- Handle customer interactions in-person, phone, and register while assisting other store areas as needed.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
