Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Lauderhill, Florida location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional customer experiences. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon maintenance, and sales growth in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Engage pet parents in-person, phone, and at register; handle reservations, check-in/out, rebooking, and client records.
- Recommend wellness solutions, promote merchandise/services to meet sales targets.
- Maintain salon cleanliness via daily checklists; respond to sick/injured pets and transport to vet if needed.
- Assist other departments, follow company policies, and contribute to team culture.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
