Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. You'll perform grooming, maintain salon standards, promote sales, and prioritize pet health/safety in a dynamic retail environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential in this hands-on role involving lifting up to 50lbs and exposure to pets, water, and moderate noise.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart protocols.
- Consult with pet parents on needs, recommend wellness solutions, and upsell merchandise/services to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greet clients, manage reservations/check-ins/outs, reminder calls, and records.
- Uphold cleanliness/sanitation via daily maintenance checklists; address sick/injured pets immediately.
- Collaborate across departments, follow policies, and contribute to a culture of recognition.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion/certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, organizational precision, safety focus, and strong communication. Physical demands include standing, lifting 50+ lbs (team lifts 100+), reaching, stooping, and handling live animals in a wet, pet-hair-filled space.
