Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. This hands-on role demands grooming expertise, safety focus, and customer engagement in a fast-paced store setting. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential amid physical demands like lifting 50+ lbs and working in pet-heavy environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, manage reservations, check-ins, check-outs, and rebookings.
- Drive salon sales through merchandise recommendations and promotions to hit targets.
- Uphold impeccable cleanliness and humane conditions; perform daily maintenance and end-of-day checklists.
- Monitor pet health, transport sick/injured animals to vets, and support other store departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion/technical evaluation. Must excel in computer use, composure under pressure, organization, safety protocols, and communication. Physical agility for standing, lifting, stooping in noisy, wet, pet-filled spaces is critical.
