Role Overview

PetSmart’s Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This dynamic role combines hands-on grooming with customer service and sales to drive salon success in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently execute full grooming services: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart protocols.
• Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend solutions, and promote merchandise/services to meet sales goals.
• Handle salon operations: greet clients, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, records, and reminder calls.
• Maintain impeccable salon hygiene, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane pet conditions.
• Respond to pet emergencies, assist other departments, and embody PetSmart's values.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, scheduling flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet-filled, noisy environment.
