Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. This full-time role upholds our vision of pet health, safety, and satisfaction in a dynamic retail setting. Located in Long Beach, California, you'll thrive in a pet-loving community with flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, recommend products/services to boost sales targets.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
- Ensure salon cleanliness, humane pet conditions, and immediate action on sick/injured pets.
- Assist other departments, promote salon metrics, and embody our culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, organizational precision, safety focus, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
