Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) at our Lyndhurst, NJ location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional pet parent experiences. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer service, sales, and salon operations in a fast-paced pet retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, recommend services/merchandise to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, client records.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Respond to pet health issues, assist other departments, and uphold company policies.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or completion of PetSmart's Salon Academy (6 months Stylist in Training). Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
