Role Overview

PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon maintenance, and sales growth in a fast-paced retail environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
• Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs and recommend solutions/merchandise.
• Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, rebooking.
• Maintain impeccable cleanliness, sanitation, and humane pet conditions; perform daily/end-of-day maintenance.
• Drive salon sales, achieve productivity targets, and assist other departments as needed.
• Respond to pet health issues, including vet transport if required.

Experience & Skills

Require prior grooming experience or successful completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program with Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, strong organization, attention to safety, and superior communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking extensively, and working in wet/noisy environments with live animals.
