Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences and upholding safety standards. Based in Manchester, Missouri, this role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement to drive salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs, recommend solutions, and upsell merchandise/services to hit sales goals.
- Manage salon operations: greet clients, handle reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure salon cleanliness and humane pet conditions via daily maintenance and end-of-day checklists.
- Respond to pet health issues, transport to vet if needed, and support other store departments.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, scheduling flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
