Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds top standards for pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This dynamic role combines hands-on grooming with customer interaction to drive positive outcomes and salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs, recommend solutions, and promote merchandise/services to meet sales goals.
- Handle pet parent interactions: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, rebooking, reminder calls, and register transactions.
- Maintain impeccable salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Monitor pet health; take immediate action for sick/injured animals, including vet transport if needed.
- Flexibly assist other departments and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or 6 months in PetSmart's Salon Academy with certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational detail-orientation, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet-filled, sometimes noisy/wet environment.
