Role Overview
PetSmart’s Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services while ensuring pet health, safety, and positive pet parent experiences. This full-time role in our Martinsville store involves grooming expertise, customer engagement, salon maintenance, and sales contributions to uphold our vision, mission, and values.
Essential Physical Demands
Expect to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift over 100 lbs), stoop, kneel, and work in a pet-filled environment with moderate to high noise, wet conditions, and pet hair. Depth perception and composure under pressure are key.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu and standalone services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, manage appointments, and drive salon sales.
- Uphold cleanliness via daily maintenance checklists and respond to pet health issues.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, client records, and merchandise recommendations.
- Assist other departments and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Strong communication, organizational skills, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and computer proficiency essential. Passion for pets and customer service sets top candidates apart.
