Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional pet parent experiences. This role combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon operations, and sales growth in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and client records.
- Maintain salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues including vet transport.
- Drive sales by recommending products/services and achieving salon metrics.
- Greet customers, handle reservations, and assist across departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, exposure to pets/hair/noise.
