Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This dynamic role in our Medicine Hat store combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer service excellence to drive positive outcomes and salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness solutions, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and reminder calls.
- Promote salon sales, recommend merchandise/services to meet targets.
- Maintain impeccable salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, ensure humane pet conditions.
- Respond to sick/injured pets, assist other departments, follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion (6 months training). Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, scheduling flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, handling pets in a fast-paced, pet-hair-filled environment with moderate noise.
