Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon maintenance, and sales contributions in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on pet needs, recommend wellness products/services, and drive salon sales.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
- Uphold salon cleanliness, pet health/safety protocols, and respond to emergencies like sick pets.
- Collaborate across departments, follow policies, and participate in recognition programs.
Experience & Skills
Requires prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling, organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in pet-heavy, noisy environments.
